The price of success-the price of international boxing
We compete against top nations that have huge financial resources and organization for their boxers. Often it is centralized, meaning that the active people live together and have a salary for their national team assignment with a national team behind them that has everything they may need: physics, diet, mental training, etc. These federation have long experience of the sport's administrative part and many good contacts worldwide.
So what does it cost to keep up with these nations? Most people understand and believe that elite training and boxing internationally requires a hard job but it is rarely mentioned what it costs. We thought to briefly describe how much it costs at the level that Team Perkele is training.
To practice a full-time boxer it costs Team Perkele about 200-250,000 sek/year and this after taxes that are at least 30% more. This ensures the active to train about 900 hours of training / year, which means about 20-25 hours / week, six days / week, all year round. Team stands for all supplements for the boxers and pays a special elite sports insurance that facilitates the asset if an injury occurs.
Everybody of the team's boxers can borrow a pulse clock and everyone has a training plan for physical, strenght,
branch specific. All gets feedback and follow-up of their training. The team physical is tested in the National Sports Association Laboratory at Bosön.
It's not just money required, for a solid training planit also means that the coach needs to spend about 10-15 hours / week. Secondly, it is the active workout that takes time, but planning and follow-up of the pulse training that is done takes even more time. The training downloaded directly to a web-based application that shows all thenecessary data and documents, and there is even a program that shows the recovery.
Everything can not be trusted at 100%, but when the active and the coach thanks to the pulse watch can keep a close eye on the situation, everything works very well and the team can avoid overtraining, injuries. This is great but it also requires the coach to spend time to follow-up the training.
In addition to this, we will add all the extra days and competitions that it means to be responsible for the competition boxers. In order to deliver and continue delivering and having the ability to box at the international top level we need 3-4 international camps a year and 3-4 Aiba tournaments every year are required. In addition to that, the European Championships and World Championship have been every second year.
Team Perkele has never received paid salary during the 10 years that Petri has been a coach. In addition, it should be pointed out that it is Petri himself who gets 200,000-250,000 kr / year and this is after taxes. It is good to remember that the taxed amount. If you expect taxes, you can spend at least 30% more.
There is no sponsorship in amateur boxing and the club does not have the amount of money needed for a full-time boxing. BK Örnen accounts for about 20% of the costs. Så its really hard work!
Petri has been in contact and created a collaboration with several physical , mental , nutriot and strength coaches. We are very grateful for all the help we have received and at the same time learned to utilize the knowledge and skills of our strength and physical programs.
Everything has been done on a voluntary basis in its own right by all involved persons. Petri Eriksson and Team Perkele have about 10 years of experience in international boxing and training.Today we have 7-8 years of active pulse-based training and the team's training presence is very high.
Good fitness is the key to recovery and it determines how much exercise volume and intensity the active can be sustained without getting sick or injured. Pulse-based exercise is an important key to controlling exercise intensity, volume and ensuring recovery.
During his approximately 10 years as a coach for Team Perkele, Petri Eriksson has contributed the following merits to his list: * EUC SILVER 2017 * EC SILVER 2016 * EC BRONS 2009 * EC BRONSE 2011 * NC GOLD 2010 * NC GOLD 2011 * NC GOLD 2016 * NC GOLD 2017 * NC SILVER 2012 * NC SILVER 2016 * SC GOLD 2009 * 2 SC GOLD 2011 * SC GOLD 2017 * 2 SC SILVER 2012 * SC SILVER 2011 * 2 SC BRONSE 2017 * SC BRONSE 2013 * SC BRONSE 2011
